Land Ministry Promotes Seamless Online LD Tax Payments
The Ministry of Land has launched a fully online Land Development (LD) Tax payment system for landowners in the Tejturi Bazar mouza within the Tejgaon Revenue Circle of Dhaka. Through this new service, any citizen owning property in Tejturi Bazar mouza can now pay LD Tax conveniently from home by registering on the ministry’s website. Upon payment, users will receive a receipt instantly, and taxes are deposited directly into the government treasury through an automated process.
The inauguration ceremony, held Wednesday at Tejgaon Farm Government Primary School, was attended by the Adviser to the Ministry of Land and Civil Aviation and Tourism, A. F. Hasan Arif. The event was chaired by Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Land, ASM Saleh Ahmed, and included remarks from Dhaka Deputy Commissioner Tanvir Ahmed and local landowners.
The Adviser highlighted the Ministry’s ongoing 100% online LD Tax payment initiative and urged landowners to play an active role in supporting its success. He emphasized that all land-related services—including mutation, LD Tax, and khatian services—are now online, accessible from any location, including overseas. The Adviser shared that the online LD Tax payment system would eventually expand nationwide.
Senior Secretary Saleh Ahmed noted that Tejturi Bazar mouza has been selected as a model for this pilot initiative to make land services more accessible. He encouraged landowners to secure their ownership rights by paying LD Tax through the online system.
The Ministry of Land has also implemented various awareness initiatives, including loudspeaker announcements, Friday prayer sermon messages, and volunteer outreach, to encourage over 2,500 landowners in Tejturi Bazar to register and pay their outstanding LD Taxes online. Additionally, mobile land service centers and workshops in local hotspots have been set up to assist residents in utilizing the online service.
To raise awareness, the Ministry organized land-themed quizzes for students, stakeholder consultation workshops, and live events to address land-related grievances in the area. The Adviser distributed awards to early adopters of the LD Tax online payment system, quiz winners, and dedicated land service ambassadors and volunteers at the event.
